Tête Nourrie Story

Tête nourrie was simply born out of a love for wearing hats. Starting from wearing a basic store bought hats to high quality ones made by talented hat makers. The interest quickly turned from purchaser to learning an age-old trade. From steaming and shaping the felt to the finishing pieces on a hat, I wanted to know how to do it all. Creating from the ground up kind of approach. The amount of days spent creating one hat in a day and age where things show up at a doorstep within hours is what makes Tete Nourrie unique. All handcrafted.

Head fed, but en Français

When I started thinking about a name, it felt like a no-brainer to embrace my mom’s French heritage. Her being raised in Bordeaux, French culture has always been a huge part of my life—and yes, I’m mostly talking about butter and baguettes. Oui, oui! It also made perfect sense to incorporate my last name, which gets shortened to "Fed." In French, "Fed" means Nourrie —to nourish.

Then, as if fate had a hand in it, I looked to my dad’s side of the family. My grandmother, born with the last name Norrie, was one of the most influential and special people in my life. She was the one who sat with me as a young girl, patiently teaching me how to sew, embroider, and also how to make the best Oklahoma country fried steak with gravy. I still feel her guidance with me every day, even though she’s no longer with us.

So here we are - this name is my way of honoring all the people who have shaped me, who continue to encourage me through this journey, whether they’re still by my side or not.

And that’s how Tête Nourrie was born!
